PALYJA organizes training and professional certification for construction workers

Jakarta, www.jakartapost.com – Water company PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya’s (PALYJA) West Jakarta branch, in cooperation with Jakarta construction service for the Central and West Jakarta regions and the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry’s Directorate General for Construction Supervision, recently organized professional enhancement training along with certification for local construction workers.

Conducted from Dec. 5 to 7, the program saw participation from 26 people from areas covered in PALYJA’s community development programs as well as the company’s green community. The training program is expected to help local construction workers boost their skills and qualifications, while spreading their newly acquired skills to their fellow workers.

According to PALYJA corporate communications and social responsibility division head Lydia Astriningworo, the program also seeks to create the prerequisites for an economically self-sufficient society.

The company previously organized similar community empowerment programs, including organic waste recycling workshops, cleanliness competition and community partnership initiatives. The program is also part of the company’s four corporate social responsibility (CSR) focus areas: health and education, humanity assistance, environmental conservation as well as the provision of clean water for all.

Hopefully, PALYJA’s contribution through the program could benefit locals who reside in the company’s operational regions while boosting their life quality.
